COMING SOON: The Modern Ranch
Waxhaw, NC
A Frank Lloyd Wright–inspired home in the woods
About the Home
This 1,700 sq. ft. ranch is designed with a striking single-pitch roofline that rises from 10 feet in the front to an impressive 21 feet in the rear, creating a dramatic open-concept living space. With clean horizontal lines and warm, natural materials, the interior is being crafted to reflect a modern Frank Lloyd Wright–style aesthetic.
The Location
Set on 17 wooded acres in Waxhaw, North Carolina, the home sits deep in nature surrounded by mature trees and featuring a small pond on the property. The setting offers privacy, quiet, and a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor living.
The Client Vision
The homeowners came to us wanting a peaceful retreat that feels rooted in the landscape. Their goals:
A modern, FLW-inspired home
Abundant natural light
Strong indoor–outdoor flow
A timeless, architectural look
Customizations
This project required a fully custom approach. The clients arrived with their own custom sized windows already purchased, requiring the entire floor plan to be engineered around their dimensions and structure.
Additional elements include:
Tile-heavy design
Concrete-look finishes
Full custom detailing throughout
Why This Project Stands Out
This home is a true top-to-bottom custom build that challenges—and surpasses—what most people think modular construction can do. Between the extreme ceiling height transitions, the architectural windows, and the unique interior styling, this project will showcase the full potential of modular design.
